In similar news, American Mardy Fish dropped 30 pounds a year ago and has finally become the best American player, supplanting Andy Roddick. And, he's 29 (practically a mummy in tennis years). While Andy is one unstable loose cannon, I respect all his accomplishments and his work ethic. He's been nothing but consistent the past decade. And he rarely receives the accolades he deserves (partly b/c Pete and Andre set such a high bar the decade prior). Nevertheless, I'm thrilled for Mardy, a career journeyman who's discipline catapulted him into the top 10 (if he wins tomorrow).
Oh, and in case you didn't notice - baseball stars today. Ya, neither did I. Number 1 out 162. Damn, their season is too long.

Baseball season is a lot less entertaining than the Bond's trial in S.F. At least until Sept (but the Bond's trial may still be on ).Tennis, well Rodger can't get it up anymore except for the biggies and then discovers if you are not consistent it disappears- like I wish his eyebrows would.

I second that last comment, especially for the women who are just as exciting to watch. Do give baseball more of a chance though. It is a great place to go off vegetarianism and have a good hot dog!
Everyone knows that most male tennis players are really gay, especialy attracted to rodeo cowboys and left-leaning coffee-house artists. Really I am joking here. When Rafa comes to the net I get goose bumps. What! He never comes to the net? When Roddick has a meltdown and the camera goes to his wife staring into outerspace and knowing when he comes home......., i really get the goosebumps.

This Bonds trial is entertaining. I remain a big Bonds fan. Watched him as a kid in Spring Training in Phoenix. My Pops would take me. Was the only one cheering for him when we finally got a team in Phoenix. While it's clear he took steroids, so did everyone else at the time. I hate that they're making a pariah out of him.
