Whew...well, suffice to say it's been a brief hiatus here on the blog frontier. I spent the past two days in Philadelphia exploring the arctic northeast. In a short turnaround I got to visit the National American Jewish History Museum, sample the many splendid vendors at Reading Market, and watch the zany, eccentric, inexplicable Mummer's Parade this morning. I also explored University of Pennsylvania and had a wild New Year's Eve celebration in Manayunk, a young hip neighborhood in West Philly.
It was a wonderful trip. And Leroy was a good doggie at Wag More Dogs. I watched him on the Doggie Web Cam a few times but then I get sad and have to turn it off. They said he kicked out the door to his crate, but other than that he played well and ate without a problem. First time for me being away from the pup so yes, I was anxious. He's such a wonderful guy, anyone on the fence of getting a dog I offer you my greatest enthusiasm and endorsement. One of the most rewarding decisions of my life.
In other news, we're off the 'fiscal cliff' so in short, we're all about to die. If the Mayan Apocalypse didn't scare you enough, now we have orange-alien Boehner and lesbian Mitch McConnell running/ruining our nation one day at a time. And Hope-Change part deux doing his part to undo early campaign promises.
But hey, at least you're not in India, or Africa.
Do any of you guys have new year resolutions this year? What are they? Did you succeed in last year's?
I think I may share a few of my own in the next day or so....

Dogs are somewhere in between humans and animals, neither of either but both together. Something faintly familiar happens when you talk to a dog that dose not happen when you talk to any other animal. They bring out our best selves because they are a 4 legged version of ourselves in many ways.As companions and friends, they surpass humans. Remember what Groucho famously said,
"Outside of a book, dog is man's best friend, inside of a dog, it's too dark to read".............
So glad to learn you had such a great time for New Years....It is so hard to kennel our pets, but kennels today are like posh resorts sometimes....Now Fox news had something about exercise and diet are ways to shorten our lives, but these are my two biggies...Happy New Year to you! Thanks for all the good postings over this past year....
No I did not succeed in last year's resolutions, but this year I resolve to stop listening to FOX news!! (Maybe if I write it down, I will stick to it!)
Doggie web cams? Now that is a novel thought. Sounds like an expensive crib for any pet.Where is this?
So are you still thinking of your resolutions? Better get started. It is later than you think.

I think a good resolution for all of us would be to think and help our fellow man a bit more. Be less "me-centered" and more "we-centered". Small moves in this direction can make a big difference.
perhaps your resolutions should include doing some volunteer work along with all the rest of your responsibilities...lol
